Privacy Policy

This policy explains personal information handled by MECHDESK, its MET licensing services and this policy page. It applies to the Windows app; availability and features of other platforms may differ. MET is responsible for its own licensing and service operations. When an organization uses MECHDESK to access its equipment, that organization is responsible for authorizing access and handling the information on that equipment.

Information and purposes

• Licensing and trial: email, license key, activation token, product identity and an installation identifier are sent to MET's license server to activate and validate rights. A trial request also sends the name and company entered by the user. These support entitlement, trial eligibility, maintenance coverage, support and misuse prevention.
• Connections: device/address identifiers, network addresses and connection metadata are processed to locate endpoints, establish sessions, route traffic and investigate faults or abuse. Rendezvous and relay infrastructure may process network traffic and metadata.
• Remote session content: screen images and input are transmitted between participating endpoints. Audio, clipboard, file transfer, chat, recording, printing and other functions may expose additional information when enabled. Content can contain personal or confidential information from the remote device. Use only with authorization and appropriate permissions.
• Local storage: device connections, preferences, logs and related session information can remain on the device. On Windows, the MECHDESK license key/token/email are stored in a user-scoped DPAPI-protected local vault. This does not mean all application data or all VNC traffic is encrypted.
• Support and web access: information voluntarily provided to support and ordinary web/server request metadata, including IP addresses, can be processed to deliver support, maintain service and protect infrastructure. This policy page contains no advertising or analytics scripts.

Sharing and service providers

Information is disclosed to the endpoints and users you connect with, and to infrastructure or service providers where necessary to operate licensing, hosting, network delivery or support. Microsoft separately processes Store installation, purchase and update information under its own privacy terms. Cloudflare may process network request information when it delivers our web services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect against abuse. MET does not sell remote-session content or license identity data for advertising.

Storage, retention and international processing

Local data remains subject to the device owner's controls. MET retains license/account records, operational logs and support records for the purposes above, applicable obligations and dispute or abuse handling; retention depends on the record and circumstances. This policy does not promise immediate deletion of all backups or a fixed retention period. Providers and participating remote endpoints may process information outside Thailand. You should consider the destination and your organization's requirements before connecting or transferring data.

Security and your controls

Licensing requests use HTTPS. Classic VNC does not provide session encryption; use an appropriately protected network and do not expose an unprotected VNC endpoint publicly. Configure access permissions and passwords, disable unnecessary clipboard/file/audio functions, disconnect sessions when finished and protect local devices and recordings. No software or network is risk-free. Uninstalling the app does not itself request deletion of server-side licensing records.

Your rights and contact

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability where applicable, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Requests are subject to verification and applicable exceptions; withdrawing consent does not undo earlier lawful processing. Contact Mechatronics Designed Co., Ltd. through the official MET contact page and identify your request as “MECHDESK privacy”. Do not send a permanent password or full license key in a public message. If MET processes information for your employer, contact that organization as well.

Children and changes

MECHDESK is a general-purpose remote access utility and is not directed at children. An age rating does not replace permission to access another person's device. Updates to this policy will appear here with a revised effective date.
